Here is My Question:
What are Plegridy's ingredients?
Plegridy is Beta interferon 1a (identical to Rebif and Avonex) with a Polyethylene Glycol attached to increase the apparent size of the molecule and decrease its clearance by the kidneys. This increases the availability of the interferon so you can take fewer injections. Pegylation (attaching a polyethylene glycol chain to a biological molecule) is a common trick used by pharmaceutical manufacturers to increase the duration of action of a biological agent for many disease states.
