Here is My Question:
I have a high white cell count...can I take Tysabri?
A high white blood count (WBC) is often an indication of another underlying problem, such as an infection. It is not a contraindication to start tysabri in a patient with a high WBC, but we usually try to figure out why your WBC is elevated before starting you on treatment.
Tysabri treatment will further elevate your white count. While the WBC elevation on Tysabri is harmless and simply a result of the drug’s mechanism of action, the elevation could mask an underlying problem.
