Is it safe for MS patients to use facial fillers, and what type would be the most safe? Thank you!
There is absolutely no credible information available on the use of facial fillers in MS patients to help me answer your question. I suspect there are many people with MS having this procedure done, but I have not heard of any specific concerns related to MS. My understanding is that there are specific types of fillers (hyaluronic acid, autologous substances like fat or plasma extract and synthetic) for specific indications and all have their pros and cons. It is most important that the procedure be done in a medical setting by an experienced physician. Most complications are related to inferior products, contaminated products or poor technique.
